Patience Series 1 - Episode 6 [EXCLUSIVE × 2024]

: In a shocking finale twist, the killer is revealed to be Zara Rose (aka Flora) , who is actually the chief of police. Her motive was a mix of jealousy and revenge after her husband, Tyler, faked his death and had a child with the CDF’s leader, Jean Crick.

Warning: Mild spoilers for Episode 6 below.

We are reminded that Patience suffers from agoraphobia and obsessive-compulsive tendencies. In previous episodes, these were obstacles. Here, they become weapons.

However, the episode’s most poignant moment comes in its final scene. After the case is closed, Bea and her son visit Patience at her home. For the first time since childhood, Patience decides to open her mother's Japanese puzzle box—an object she had kept closed for years. The box appears empty, but upon turning it over, she finds a phone number taped to its underside. Her enigmatic smile as she looks at the number ends the season on a note of hope and lingering mystery, finally offering her a potential connection to the mother who abandoned her. What happens next subverts the "hero saves the day" trope. Patience does not save the girl. Beaumont arrives and shoots the killer, but the daughter is traumatized. The final image is not a celebration. It is Patience walking into the river off the pier, fully clothed, her face a mask of exhaustion.

The team initially believes the threat is localized, not airborne, allowing them to focus on the suspect's identity.

It is at this point that the stakes become deeply personal. Bea is officially warned off the case, but her relentless dedication to the truth (or perhaps her stubborn streak) compels her to continue in secret. In a desperate move, Patience breaks every rule she holds dear, accessing a forbidden file that reveals the shocking truth: the dead man is not who they thought. His real name is Tyler Rose, a former undercover agent who infiltrated the CDF, fell in love with its founder Jean Crick (Cat Simmons), and faked his own death to start a new life.

Patience notices a filing anomaly dating back three decades in the police archives.
