: If the device has older firmware, there is a slight chance it still uses older default passwords. It is worth trying 12345 , 123456 , or even admin as a password, as these are common defaults for some older models.
Unscrew the outer metal chassis casing and carefully remove the lid.
Open the SADP Tool. It will scan your network and list the DVR. Check the box next to the DVR-208G-F1 in the list. Click on the right-hand panel.
Some users attempt to reset by unplugging the power, pressing the physical “Reset” button, and plugging the power back in. However, this method can erase all configuration settings, including camera feeds and recording schedules. Use this hard reset only as a very last resort as it will wipe the device clean. Ensure the system lock feature is enabled. This locks out an IP address or local user for several minutes after 3 to 5 failed login attempts, preventing brute-force password cracking attacks.
When you first power on your Hikvision DVR, you will be prompted to create an administrator password. This is a critical security step.
Do you have a connected directly to the device? Have you already downloaded the SADP Tool on a computer? Open the SADP Tool
Install the SADP software on a Windows or Mac computer connected to the same local network as the DVR.
A prompt will appear asking you to create a new admin password.
